Principal Accountabilities :
Full understanding of the Underwriting process and its controls to ensure all activity is compliant. Manages the administration of applications from point of Offer through to Completion, interacting with customer / broker / solicitor queries via telephone / e-
mail / letter and preparing cases for referral to Underwriters where decisions affect criteria. Ensure effective and accurate communication in any form taking a Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) approach always.
Accurate completion of the Certificate of Title and preparation of accounts for submission to the Finance Department. Handling dissatisfied third party issues and suggesting resolution, raising the matter with Underwriting Manager if proposals are not accepted and following the complaints process.
Co-ordinates instruction and monitoring of Solicitor activity to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) are met, highlighting areas for improvement and delivering recommendations for change.
Carry out analysis of pending business to check cases are progressing to Completion in a timely manner and close dated accounts with agreement from brokers / team leader to ensure pipeline business data remains accurate.
Support Underwriting Manager by attending technical working groups, weekly operations meetings and meetings with third parties either by conference call or in person with a view to building good business to business relationships.
Approaching change within the department and to LGHF current product range in a flexible manner.
Principal Deliverables :
Ensuring clean and current data and support information Clear communication with team and customers Prioritisation and preparation of work and raising concerns for review Daily Workflow Reviews within peer group.
Weekly Workflow Reviews with Underwriting Manager Attending Service Reviews with Solicitors upon request
Minimum of GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
Experience & Knowledge :
Previous experience in a financial industry or equivalent. Previous experience in completions (beneficial) Understanding of Anti Money Laundering (AML), Treating Customers Fairly’ (TCF), Data Protection requirements.
Strong verbal and written skills and attention to detail. Computer literate in Microsoft. Team Player and flexible approach to work
