The team you’ll be part of

Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

What you will learn and contribute to

NPO Lead Engineer performs network performance monitoring and analysis by collecting and analyzing information from sources in the domain of the customer solution (mobile network for 2G, 3G, 4G and possible 5G), diagnosing root causes of performance issues, and recommending improvement for optimization actions (RF Physical Changes, RAN parameter tuning, QoS Optimization and Mobility / Layering Strategy tuning, necessary RAN features and SW Upgrades, etc.

to meet contractual KPI targets etc. In addition to diagnosing network performance issues, generates daily / weekly / monthly reports in either radio or access technology.

The specialist performs short-term Capacity Utilization and traffic pattern assessments to evaluate impact on current and future architecture and recommend best network strategy for future traffic / capacity needs with a focus on automation to reduce analysis time and other optimization related activities that involves repetition.

Your skills and experience

Achieved well-advanced skills of a specific professional discipline combining deep knowledge of theory and organizational practice or expertise.

Recognized expert in their field (depth & breadth). Has experience and success in multiple areas and can lead projects or serve as an SME.

Typically requires 10-14 years extensive relevant experience and / or a graduate / postgraduate equivalent degree.

  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, and services
  • Has in-depth organizational and relevant market knowledge and uses understanding on how relevant areas can be integrated to achieve objectives
  • Contributes to strategic decisions within professional area
  • Solves complex problems based on sophisticated analytical thought and complex judgment
  • Contributes to development of concepts to determine professional direction of own organizational unit
  • Acts as a professional leader for staff / work team / taskforces, often the most senior specialist in a team, who serves as best practice resource within own organizational unit and / or is recognized as an expert within the same professional area in the business
  • Can lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity, handles day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work
  • Consults and optimizes customer network with medium to high complexity based on traffic utilization, patterns and defined assumptions to achieve the required KPIs.
  • Interworking between layers and technologies, Root cause Analysis.
  • Organizes field measurements and laboratory tests. Performs network audits, especially in cases where fault or problems exist.
  • Provides expert training to teams (Technical, Business Critical, and Human Skills)
  • Advanced product dimensioning / solutioning, strong knowledge of Nokia Product & Portfolio, strong presentation / communication skills at CxO / Senior management Level
  • Takes responsibility for solving design and performance activities in customer projects independently. These may include complex problem solving in projects with performance requirements and multi-vendor environment.
  • Actively reviews and enhances process, methods and tools
