As the leader of this talented team, you will work in an Agile and collaborative environment with other cross-functional partners to drive great designs that solve complex Southeast Asia transport problems, delight customers and deliver business goals.
As a key company leader, the Head of Design reports directly to the Head of Product Design. You are responsible not only for helping each designer reach his or her top potential, often by sharing your experience and offering solutions as guideposts along the way, you will also be the championing voice of our customers across the whole of Grab.
Own the end-to-end design process of the team, ensuring high-velocity and high-quality digital product deliverables
Champion user-centred design culture across the whole of Grab services, including non-product development teams
Provide customer-focused leadership in collaboration with the product, engineering and business teams to iterate our product strategy and product development process
Grow, lead and nurture a team of product designers. Foster career development and growth paths for designers at Grab, while considering their individual career objectives
Drive and evolve Grab’s product design systems and culture to adapt to new product, customer and regulatory needs
Execute against key growth goals as a partner in the product management and business processes
Develop and build relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency across our Transport and Payments division
Drive data-driven design decisions with market analyses and customer research findings
You have at least 10 years of applied UX / UI design experience including 5+ years of design leadership experience at a consumer software company or startup
Have a portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience delivering high-quality consumer web and mobile products in an Agile environment
Proficient in best practices for user-centered design process, as well as strong knowledge of UX / UI systems, principles and design trends across web, mobile and service design
Experience creating services and applications with multiple user touchpoints on different platforms and devices
Proven experience growing and leading multi-disciplinary design teams
Comfortable collaborating with executives, engineers, product managers, data scientists and other designers to define product strategy and deliver quality products
Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a strong rationale for design decisions
Relentless desire for human-centered innovation, balanced with business needs and customer expectations
Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
Strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed when needed
