POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Support Officer should be comfortable with full-stack development for educational projects in AI, AR, basic robotics, data analytics, ecommerce, IoT or VR.

Basic hardware skills will be beneficial, particularly to support IoT project implementation. Previous work experience in the education and / or tech sectors will be considered favourably.

This varied position will suit an enthusiastic team player who enjoys working with people in an educational environment.

Hours are flexible, as some activities occur outside of regular office hours. Subject to relevant conditions, work from home and travel to locations around Vietnam such as high schools or other RMIT campuses may be required.

A part-time appointment may be possible. We may consider candidates in the final stages of relevant degree study.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Research, evaluate and develop emerging and existing software, hardware and platforms which can support digitally enhanced learning and teaching activities.

Develop and support varied projects as required including face-to-face / online activity planning, management, demonstration and evaluation.

Maintain and evolve current systems including Sphero and mBot educational robotics platforms; and Oculus VR systems (CODE is a PC-based environment).

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Bachelor degree in computing science, software engineering, information technology or similar.

Minimum of two years’ experience in software, hardware and / or platforms. Languages should include JS and Python.

Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented problem-solver, able to handle multiple projects, platforms and devices. Able to adapt between online and face-to-face working environments and locations.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstration of software, hardware and platforms to trainees or learners.

Fluent in both Vietnamese and English languages.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

English is the language of communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines.
