The Role

The Student Connect provides simple ways to access student service and support, caters to the administrative / educational needs and general enquiries of current students and family.

The provision of information, advice, or issue resolution is delivered using a high standard of customer service intended to exceed our customers’ expectations.

The Senior Student Advisors in Student Connect provide complex issue resolution using case management approach. The Senior Student Advisors guide program and course selections and Outbound Exchange study plans according to students’ individual needs.

The Senior Student Advisor is a customer service professional and is expected to take a strong interest in the field of customer service as well as the scholarly inquiry of student advising.

Key Selection Criteria

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is desirable.

At least 4 years of experience in a customer service role where the expectation was to deliver high levels of customer service across a broad range of service areas.

Experience with the provision of advisory services and case management, ideally in an education environment.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a professional and diplomatic manner.

Demonstrated leadership and experience in recruiting, coaching and aligning team members to achieve high performance outcomes.

Demonstrated complex issue resolution and decision-making skills including the ability to source relevant additional information.

Well-developed interpersonal skills, including negotiation, liaison, and cross-cultural communication; Ability to build and maintain effective relationships in a culturally diverse environment utilizing strong interpersonal skills.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills including the ability to convey complex information, ideas and concepts clearly and efficiently to a variety of different audiences.

Demonstrated ability to flexibly and efficiently lead a team in a high volume customer focused environment. Ability to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines and service expectations.

Experience and familiarity with database systems and other software relevant to service provision and case management.

    English Proficiency

    English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) with a score of at least 7.
