The Role Responsibilities

SC Ventures (SCV) spearheads innovation across Standard Chartered. Included in SCV’s mandate will be to invest in FinTech’s and other start-up companies, promote rapid testing and implementation of new business models.

Solv Vietnam is set up as an e-commerce marketplace to transform the traditional B2B supply chain, supporting SMEs with easier and faster access to finance.

As a Junior Java Developer (JAD), you will have the opportunity to speed up the development and delivery of fintech products.

You will work with product managers, developers, and quality assurance engineers to create the global supply chain finance (SCF) platform.

You will be able to work on high-impact, scalable, and complex business problems. You will use cloud technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Angular JS, AWS, and Kubernetes.

  • Working with CTO, Tech Lead Manager, Product Owners, and partners to build, deliver features and capabilities aligned to the business model to build on the fintech platform to successful global rollout.
  • Work with the engineering team to deliver Cloud platform, web apps and mobile apps expected to perform at scale.
  • Collaborate with product and experience teams to prototype new features and react to user behaviour.
  • Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
  • Designs, Develops, and Implements web-based or microservices to support business requirements. Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs software development (coding) and testing.
  • Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.

  • Participate in the design of the solution based on business requirements gathered and analyzed by analysts.
  • Develop new features for mobile / web applications.
  • Build reusable code and libraries across platforms.
  • Optimize applications in terms of scalability and stability
  • Working with the team to determine the product’s functions and goals.
  • Identifying and resolving current and potential product issues.
  • Creating detailed reports on the work that has been done and the projects that have been completed.
  • Attending group meetings to talk about projects and goals.
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, and coding assistance for other developers.
  • Keeping track of deadlines for high-volume deliverables
  • Write code for others, not for yourself code will be reviewed by peer developers
  • Working in highly collaborative, fun loving team using Agile methodology
  • Use the best coding standards and practices, to assure the quality of the code
  • Governance

  • Act and escalate quickly when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to establish applicable risk / control framework to ensure that the Group’s ability to remain within risk appetite is not materially threatened.
  • Familiarise self with governance structures and mandatory bank processes.

  • Our Ideal Candidate

  • Degree in Informatics Engineering, Computer Science or in similar areas
  • Minimum of 1 years work experience in creating front-end (mobile / web) applications, using Angular 6+, Typescript, JavaScript
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and Bootstrap.
  • Experience with REST based APIs
  • Knowledge of iOS or Android development is a plus
  • Excellent capacity to work autonomously or integrated in a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proactivity and ability to adapt in a context in which priorities often change
  • Developed sense of responsibility, oriented to customer solutions and associated improvements
  • Familiarity with running web services, understanding of systems internals and networking are a plus.
  • Knowledge of software best practices, like Behaviour-Driven-Development (BDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Knowledge of web servers and development environments
  • Knowledge of Agile / Scrum development methodologies is a plus
  • Knowledge of asynchronous messaging middleware is a plus
  • Knowledge of financial products and dashboards is a plus
  • Cloud knowledge a big plus (AWS / GCP) (Kubernetes / Docker)
  • Be nice, respectful, able to work in a team
  • Beneficial is knowledge of FinTech ecosystem, inclusive of Blockchain, Digital Payments, Primer Services and Transaction Banking Enhancements, as well as other innovations in this space.
