RMIT Online Research Panel (Online Panel) is an online community engaging over 100,000 survey respondents via RMIT’s own survey platform.

These respondents represent a diverse group of RMIT’s target audiences, segments and profiling across locations, continuously pre-recruited and agreed to participate in different types of surveys and research at RMIT.

RMIT Online Panel plays a pivotal role in providing qualified and reliable source of research respondents to support the implementation of market research projects both online and face to face regionally and domestically.

As a critical unit, Online Panel strategically supports RMIT Market Research Department effort in building in-house capacity to handle end to end market research, as well as transitioning traditional market research functions onto the digital domain and most importantly to expand digital research capacity to meet regional expansion needs.

The Digital Research Specialist will lead the development and management of RMIT Market Research Online Panel. They are responsible for strategically initiating and executing strategies in panel engagement, retention and acquisition utilizing the data & tools available while leveraging their expertise on best practices of co-creation community to maximise RMIT’s Online Panel potential.

They will be counted on to grow RMIT market research networks and establish communication with panelists of all types to promote collaborative innovations between RMIT and its stake-holder groups.

This role will work closely with multiple departments including marketing, student recruitment, schools and colleges, market intelligence and portfolio in both Vietnam and Melbourne to plan and execute a panel strategy to successfully conduct the online market research needs of the university.

The position is mainly based in HCMC but the scope of work will cover other regional markets following the university ’s direction

Reports to : Manager, Market Research


Initiate, develop and manage panel retention engagement, acquisition strategies and planning through analysis of the available panel data, current recruitment channels & strong expertise of external panel management best practices.

Execute panel strategies independently and collaboratively by working with internal stakeholders such as student recruitment, marketing, market research data contacts and external research and recruitment vendors.

Design, from start to finish, cross markets process for panel respondents' recruitments, panel research, respondent communication and respondent's reward system.

Work closely with Vietnam compliance and Melbourne Compliance, Risk & Policies to ensure regular review and alignment of process and procedure.

Standardize panel research reports and adapt panel research findings and insights into relevant context for both internal teams and cross departments stakeholders.

Foster and maintain positive relationship with panel respondents. Identify and leverage a variety of recruitment channels to boost engagement in hard-to-reach groups including industry experts, working professionals and key influencers.

Lead / manage all respondents recruiting activities and communications for qualitative and quantitative research purposes specific to each different projects of the department :

  • a) List / sample development relevant to project requirements (working with external vendors when necessary);
  • b) Invitations and reminders with appropriate and enticing messaging;.

    c) Scheduling of qualitative research timeline appropriate to all groups (e.g., interviews and focus groups)

    Responsible for technology implementations, streamlining, managing, improving current in-house digital research solutions.

    List of in-house solutions include but not limited to :

  • RMIT online research panel
  • RMIT online platform : questionnaire design / scripting, data collection, data analytic tools, online dashboard, tabling, charting and reporting.
  • Online focus groups, video interviews,
  • Video concept development for testing,
  • Respondent’s online diary / journal,
  • Respondents' invitation, alert, and reminders,
  • Respondents incentivization and reward
  • Conduct and maintain regular update for Vietnam Insights SharePoint website. List of updates including :

    General updates for schools, colleges, and departments

    Competitor's analysis update on Vietnam Insights (regular and by ad-hoc request)

    Vietnam Higher Education market landscape & regulatory update

    Work closely with other market research team members to identity research needs, propose new research design and methodology, review current process and provide inputs based on digital expertise on streamlining the overall process as needed.

    Responsible for online panel research project budgeting. Collaborate with internal market research team members and budget owners to assure that projects are delivered on-time, on-budget to meet project's expectations

    Bachelor in business analytics, marketing or another aligned major.

    At least 3-5 years of applicable experience in market research, marketing or panel management.

    Understanding of statistical principles of sampling and significant testing and experience in quantitative research.

    Excellent experience in managing projects relating to market research from inception to completion.

    Well-developed planning, organisational, analytical and problems solving skills, working independently, or as part of a team.

    Attention to detail, accuracy, and security when managing information digitally & physically.

    Demonstrated good knowledge and experience with computer software and platforms, including databases, spreadsheets, presentation software, apps and social media.

    Proficient using MO365 suite and SPSS, SQL for database management and data manipulation

    Excellent customer service approach and ability to engage, support, and work collaboratively with managers and stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.

    Well-developed interpersonal skills including coordination, liaison, and communication, both written and spoken, in English and Vietnamese, across a broad range of stakeholders Strong project management, agency and commitment to continuous improvement in work processes, to ensure quality outcomes.

    Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position and RMIT values

    Eligibility : for local candidates only


    Highly competitive VND salary package (plus allowances) for Vietnamese candidates starting from VND 30,100,000 gross per monthdepending on proven track record in meeting all the key selection criteria.
