The Role

In this role you will be reporting to the Head of Engineering and managing a team in Vietnam office. You will be supporting the engineering activities of the development team, mainly from the people management perspective, so that each team member is able to perform to the best of their abilities.

You will also be required to ensure robust communication between your team and the team sitting at the firm's headquarters.

You will be responsible for :

  • Conducting one-on-one meetings with the team members to motivate them to increase team performance and continue to contribute to the team.
  • Evaluating the performance of team members.
  • Assigning team members to roles of the team.
  • Encouraging members to participate in the discussion and lead the planning and review meetings.
  • Ensuring the communication between the team members and the other teams goes well.
  • Guiding the team to produce software with sufficient quality and performance.
  • Participating in hiring by interviewing and attracting candidates.
  • Reporting the problems of the team to upper management in a timely manner.
  • Ideal Profile

  • You possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience for at least 5 years.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience building and managing development teams that design and deliver highly reliable and scalable distributed systems
  • At least 2 years of experience with agile development methodologies
  • Solid software development background, including domain-driven design, design patterns, data structures, and test-driven development.
  • You possess a solid track record of retaining, developing, motivating, and mentoring highly effective teams
  • You also have experience with project delivery for a complex system.
  • You are self-directed and motivated to meet deadlines
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
