PATH seeks a Deputy Chief of Party to support and provide strategic leadership for an anticipated five year USAID-funded project, USAID Support to End Tuberculosis, in Vietnam.
The goal of this project will be to strengthen the government of Vietnam’s tuberculosis (TB) system capacity to effectively lead the TB response in Vietnam, by 1) strengthening TB service delivery platforms;
2) improving TB service accessibility; and 3) advancing local ownership of the TB response. Key activities will include providing technical assistance to the National TB Program (NTP) for : TB policy development and implementation;
strengthening NTP service delivery networks; the introduction and implementation of new tools and approaches; the improvement of access and utilization of TB services to facilitate active case finding, address multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB), enhance TB prevention, and address stigma and gender issues;
and advance government political and financial commitment to the TB response. Key responsibilities and required skills and experience are detailed below.
Assemble, support, and coordinate the technical team to implement a high-quality, results-oriented activity to achieve the objectives and expected results.
Support planning, technical leadership and coordination of all activities including the work of any subpartners.
Support the development and scale of innovations and new approaches that strengthen early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and management of TB and DR-TB.
Lead on advocacy efforts with the government of Vietnam to advance political and financial commitment to the TB response in Vietnam.
Oversee the development of annual work plans, progress reports, and other required deliverables.
Monitor implementation of activities to ensure that project outcomes are accomplished and targets reached on time and within budget.
Coordinate with Government of Vietnam officials and other key stakeholders, including other USAID implementing partners.
Serve as acting Chief of Party when necessary, and in that role, represent the project to the USAID Mission, other U.S.
government representatives, Government of Vietnam officials, other donors, partners, and other civil society and private sector stakeholders.
Produce and disseminate key project results through journal articles, presentations, posters, and other mediums, at local, regional and international forums to share experiences and best practices.
