Ongoing Role Responsibilities
The Head of Data and Analytics (D&A) will lead the data agenda for the bank to driving robust regulatory reporting and business impact through D&A to ensure a complete state of readiness for transition to future operating model.
This role understands business strategy and goals in terms of data needs, regulatory reporting requirements, and develop corresponding D&A strategy for the country along with a fit for purpose view under the future operating model.
The role will also have accountability and responsibility for defining and managing data governance, data quality and data life cycle management as part of the initiative.
Create a data-driven culture, drive data agenda for country in alignment with Group Data and Analytics strategy that will position Standard Chartered as leading in this field.
Develop and strengthen our Data strategy in the ways we acquire, store, manage, share and use data.
Participate and support the development of regulatory reporting, and other regulation requirements involving D&A.
Interpret data and help turn it into information that enables or improves a business process, thus affecting business decisions.
Understand the business and proactively suggest a solution using BI tools.
Creating effective reports / dashboards within quick turnaround time. Automate intuitive dashboards that help visualize and answer complex business problems.
Lead the definition and support execution of test cases for user acceptance testing.
Document all underlying methodologies, design, assumptions and operating models.
Communication with relevant teams to understand user needs, resolve issues and promote usage of the products developed.
Drive operational efficiencies including automation, helping the business reduce reliance on time-consuming processes.
Develop strong functional content with data linkage and share best practices across various teams and aim towards enhancing the analytical quotient in all reports / metrics submitted to the stakeholders.
Work with the enterprise architecture team to establish standard data platforms and tools.
Apply and ensure data governance framework.
Managing risks and regulatory issues associated in data analytics solutions.
Our Ideal Candidate
Degree in Data science, Computer science, Information Technology, Statistics, Finance, Economics or another related field
Relevant experience in using data is a pre-requisite.
Proven and successful experience in the execution of data analytics initiatives, leading to the development of useful insights and improvement of end to end regulatory reporting process and business’s performance.
Analytical mind with sound business insights. Ability to translate the regulatory and business problems and requirements into analytics solutions.
Proficiency across data visualization tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy), the core statistical toolsets (SQL, SAS, R, Python) and Hadoop ecosystem.
Knowledge of banking products with a finance background and the overall industry a strong plus. The Candidate should have curiosity to learn both business and technical side of Banking.
Good verbal and written communication skills (including presentation aspects); effective communication with the regional stakeholders.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
