We’re looking for a Sourcing and Quality Specialist who has strong experience in either of these fields in Asia. Experience in sourcing, developing, reviewing, and following up on Vendors and Products is a must.
You will be ensuring available production capacities and following up on product development and quality while maintaining timelines.
This will be an essential role in coordinating the different tasks at hand.
What You'll Do
Source and assess new vendors (qualify them as Article approved vendors)
Source and assess raw materials for BOM data sheets
Update our internet tool system with information related to the new vendors and prepare introductions to our team in Vancouver
Maintain sample timelines and ensure the vendor is meeting all deliverables
Evaluate new product samples, review design changes or quality improvements on new or existing products
Collaborate with the design team in the Head Office to define product specifications and requirements
Collaborate with vendors in implementing Article initiated improvements or design revisions
Follow up sampling with raw material vendors and finished product vendors
Conduct product testing following Article standards at the factory's site or Article’s office
Manage testing of products and / or materials at third-party labs as required following Article’s Product and Compliance Test Standards
Establish and keep updated specification sheets to ensure all new and existing products meet Article’s quality standards and material requirements including required product labelling and warnings
Conduct in-line, CAPA, and pre-shipment inspections
Analyze and categorize customer claims to monitor product performance and identify issues
Conduct root cause analysis on product issues and discuss solutions with factories. Review and approve corrective actions.
Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team in Vancouver in the event of a quarantine or recall, and work with the vendor on a timely resolution of the issue
Support the continued refinement of Article quality standards and systems through process improvements and ad-hoc projects
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Candidate should have bachelors, MFA, or other post-secondary certification
Extensive experience in a Sourcing or QA role in the furniture industry in Asia
Previous exposure in managing furniture clients from North America is a plus
Good communication skills and good command of English
Technical knowledge of furniture is a plus
Result orientated and persuasive mindset
Curious, eager to learn and be proactive
