About the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The CEI is Fulbright’s very first university center, established in summer 2019 to empower future entrepreneurs and innovators to go after Vietnam and the region’s greatest challenges and opportunities.

The CEI’s mandate is to work with future entrepreneurs and innovators broadly, including but not limited to Fulbright’s full-time student body.

As the youngest unit of Fulbright, the CEI is still very much a startup within a startup university, and there is near unlimited potential for growth and impact.

Since its inception in 2019, the CEI has made rapid progress in cultivating entrepreneurial talent, both in terms of Fulbright students and the broader youth population in Vietnam.

The CEI has, in the past year, organized :

An , where we selected, trained, placed, and supported undergraduate students to intern at Vietnam’s leading startup and technology companies

An , a leading entrepreneurship education organization out of Singapore

A two-day

Seminars on venture capital investing with Hustle Fund, a global venture capital firm

A in collaboration with a University of Michigan Ross School of Business marketing professor, John Branch

Numerous panels and workshops on entrepreneurship and venture capital by startup founders and venture capitalists in the region

The CEI has also engaged over 50 companies, investors, and educators in Vietnam and across the region to bring expertise to our students and community.

In the upcoming year, the CEI is seeking to accelerate its growth further and expand to other areas of innovation. Priorities are likely to include :

In addition to the existing entrepreneurship support activities, creating two new pillars of innovation including : 1) corporate innovation and 2) social innovation.

Within the entrepreneurship pillar, expanding the Venture Fellows Program to include new focus tracks, and creating new venture building / startup acceleration programs.

In the corporate and social innovation pillars, creating a series of industry-society-university collaboration labs to help address industry and social challenges using different innovation approaches and experiments.

For individual and across areas of innovation, delivering regular awareness raising activities including workshops, trainings and events for Fulbright students and relevant stakeholders to have a common understanding on innovation mindsets, approaches and methodologies.

Job Purpose

The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI) at Fulbright University is seeking the Operations Manager to support the Head of CEI in overseeing all operations and finance related activities of the Center.

Reporting Lines

Reports operationally to : Head of Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Reports functionally (where applicable) to : N / A

List by title positions which report directly to this position : Communications and Events Lead & Operations Officer

Roles and Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities of the Operations Manager includes but is not limited to :

Create budget plans, design standard operating procedures (SOP) and design monitoring & evaluation (M&E) frameworks for all CEI activities

Oversee the Communications and Events Lead and the Operations Officer in implementing the procurement, payment process, communication activities, administrative works and reporting related to CEI activities

Collaborate closely with the Innovation teams within CEI to ensure best deliver of the Center’s services to Fulbright students and stakeholders.

Work effectively with the Finance, Human Resource, Communications and other teams within Fulbright University Viet Nam to execute the ambitious vision and plan for the CEI

Establish relationships with external stakeholders to develop meaningful partnerships that connect financial resources and opportunities to CEI and the Fulbright Community

Support CEI Director with fundraising among donors, government agencies, and foundations

Other duties

Contributing to team effort by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to enhance the services of the department;

helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed.

Other tasks and responsibilities assigned to the Employee by the Company which may be adjusted from time to time.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance, or related majors. Master’s Degree is a plus.

Employment / Professional Experience : At least 5 years of work experience in operations, finance, process design & improvement, project monitoring & evaluation.

Experience working with different sectors including non-profit organizations, corporates and start-ups is a plus. Experience in managing team members, delivering shared results.
