Manager Manufacturing Excellence Apparel

PURPOSE

  • To drive overall ME performance through implementation of Global Apparel ME process and standards, assuring our strategic objective of creating world class vendors that drive continuous improvement and related KPI milestone are met
  • To evaluate and identify manufacturing opportunities, technologies utilizing Industrial Engineering & Lean Manufacturing techniques that result in measurable and tangible efficiency improvement (e.
  • g. reduced unit cost, improved quality and productivity) and digital transformation

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage T1 suppliers’ ME performance within the region and report key ME indicators.
  • Ensure that Lean Manufacturing Principles are maintained with all initiatives and that Lean Manufacturing metrics are continuously tracked
  • Monitor and direct ME initiatives at T1 to deliver measurable & sustainable increases in manufacturing efficiency, quality, sustainability and / or delivery.
  • Set up and run regular progress review meetings with all factories to identify challenges and opportunities and align on general strategic direction.
  • Use industrial engineering techniques to develop positive change to current and existing processes throughout the T1 & T2 supply base.
  • Ensure improvements are sustained through the introduction of work instructions, quality standards, workplace organisation, training and performance measurement.
  • Provide relevant training to the local M.E. T1 teams & LO teams.
  • Support the M.E. T1 with their GSD rollout & calibration of production environment to ensure accuracy of standard efficiency is within tolerance.
  • Support when needed the Sourcing leadership to provide advice & drive change within the business.
  • Facilitate and actively participate in all M.E. Manager visits, term reviews & forums, workshops, summits etc.
  • Promote and actively drive best practices sharing among supplier partners in the region. Focus on people management, production methodology & process, and usage of digital manufacturing to deliver tangible improvement on efficiency
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to determine best production methods, automation and digitalization solutions.
  • Transfer knowledge into productivity improvement efforts across Apparel factories.

  • Strong Lean Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering background.

  • Ability to cope with change, make decisions and act comfortably with risk and uncertainty
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of T1 apparel manufacturing
  • Innovative and challenges status quo
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill with all levels of business.
  • Competency with Excel, Word, Access and MS Project is required.
  • Fluent in English (Reading, Writing and Speaking)
  • REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering or relevant qualifications within the field of Industrial Engineering.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience within an apparel manufacturing / industrial engineering environment.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and / or 6 Sigma
  • Operational experience in multinational companies
