Job Description

Participate in solution design and development of database solutions.

Responsible for managing bespoke database in a SQL Server environment, including creation and monitoring of content databases, log files, backup, replication, etc.

Manage user accounts, permissions and access rights in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy and security

Transform, cleanse, and distribute data into applications, databases, and data warehouses.

Implement models using appropriate data techniques.

Extract and mine data using SQL.

Optimise and streamline Stored Procedures and Views.

Provide technical assistance, troubleshooting and resolutions to data-related issues for new and existing systems.

Working as part of a larger conversion team to convert data from a legacy system to the current database

Assess the impact of change requests, and develop solutions and mitigation strategies

Interpret business requirements and provide systems / technical documentation

Work as an effective team member; share knowledge and information with the team and assist others in meeting team priorities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal

Strong attention to detail, analytical and conceptual thinker

Job Requirements

Required Number : 1

Year Experience : 5 Years

Minimum Career Level : Specialist

Minimum Education Level : Bachelor Degree

Job Skills : - Minimum 4 years experience in SQL Server Administration and Database Development

Knowledge and experience SQL Server 2012 / 2014 and Visual Studio

Strong data analysis skills.

Strong and experienced performance tuning and monitoring experience.

Experience administering SQL Servers instances

Worked in a fast paced environment managing large and complex volume of data

Understanding of indexing strategies and other performance related items.

Excellent experience in PowerShell, agent jobs, performance tuning, backup / recovery.

Experience with data integration tool SSIS

Strong experience writing Stored Procedures

Ability to participate in code reviews as well as working autonomously and as part of a team.

Additionally, preference may be given to candidates who possess the following :

Experience in converting data from legacy database, data mapping and conversion to SQL Server

Solid knowledge of application development experience in .NET framework.

Working knowledge of or experience in ERP type system.

Working knowledge of or experience in Accounting or Retail POS systems

Experience in Agile Development methodologies

Excellent academic and Tertiary Qualifications

Oversea or international tertiary qualifications (especially Australia)
