Within the PIC Project Team based in Hanoi (Vietnam), and under the Project Director’s responsibility, the Health & Safety Engineer is in charge of the management of the health & safety supervision of the full line 3 for elevated and underground sections.
The Elevated line is about 8.5km and comprises 8 elevated stations and viaduct structures and the underground one is about 4 km or tunnels included 4 stations.
Main duties :
Review of all documents issued by Contractors (General H&S management plans.) :
The Curriculum Vitae of all proposed H&S staffs,
Staffing plan for all H&S personnel (updated and resubmitted at least every 3 months for acceptance),
The safety criteria made by H&S Manager in Contractors,
Site H&S Diary,
H&S Incident Control and Non-Conformance Procedure,
General H&S Plan,
List of all chemicals,
Meetings for H&S :
Regular meetings to review and update H&S Procedures,
Monthly H&S meeting with Engineer,
Management Review meeting with Engineer,
Monitoring and Surveillance
Weekly inspection with Engineer,
Monthly surveillance with Engineer,
H&S management audits,
Management review of the HSMS (H&S Management System) every 6 months,
Training for H&S
Regular Health & Safety training and rescue training,
H&S Awareness Training,Etc.
H&S policy statement on the Contractor’s site notice boards,
First Aid kits,
Hospital emergency numbers,
Employer Approved PPE,
Engineer with Health & Safety Certificate, specialised in civil works and systems with International experience.
Experience required :
10 15 years of experience in H&S management,
Strong H&S expertise.
English : Fluent
High Level Skills in H&S management,
Deep knowledge about safety standards and procedures,
Appropriate interpersonal skills, such as leading, communicating, negotiating, problem solving
Sense of initiative, perfect organization and great rigour,
Sense of commitment,
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
