Responsible for selling complex technical products and / or services.

Typically specializes in a single product or product line and carries an overlay quota.

May manage and coordinate the sales and technical team in support of the sale of the company’s products.

May also be called on as a technical product expert to develop and present sales proposals and systems solutions, and close complex technical sales.

Other Specific Duties or Responsibilities

Must be able to demonstrate product functionality for Varian hardware and software product lines

Must be able to articulate value proposition of product lines, integration with other Varian solutions, and answer technical product specifications

Must be able to work closely with Software Solution Business Managers at the district level, assist with the correct configuration of customer quotations, and assist with sales efforts to secure software and hardware sockets for Varian.

May manage and coordinate individual sales (upgrades, SSA’s, etc.), and coordinate technical team in support of the sale of the company’s products.

Must be able to provide regional level views of product orders and revenue, regional product level forecasts, and manage any customer expectations that may be required due to regional and district alignment.

Required Skills

Fully qualified, experienced professional; Mid-level sales account manager and or technical sales specialist.

Radiation therapy treatment planning and dosimetry background, physics experience and related knowledge is preferred, health reform landscape, industry specific product knowledge for Specialists demonstrating product lines such as TPS or Velocity.

IT knowledge, health reform landscape, industry specific product knowledge. PACS and EMR experience. Experience with cloud based platforms and transitioning customer from traditional platforms to cloud based platforms for Specialists demonstrating product lines such as OIS or HALO.

Proficient in utilizing business tools such as : E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

An experienced sales professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in solving complex business problems.

Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

Normally receives little or no instruction on day to day work; general instructions on new assignments.

Typical Education and Experience

Bachelor degree (or equivalent experience) and more than 8 years of related experience or Masters Degree with more than 6 years of related experience.

Ability to Travel
