WAVEMAKER is seeking for a Business Director to join their Ho Chi Minh office. Managing the day-day requirements of iconic brands.

This is a role that will stretch your brain in industries which are revolutionising the way it conducts business from supermarket shelves into content and digital platforms / services.

This role reports to the Managing Director, Wavemaker Vietnam

  • You will have the opportunity to work on the Strategy and lead Media Recommendations across the categories. This could be media stunts, content pieces, or digital hubs for prospective customers.
  • You will be the day to day lead bringing together clients, customer insights, media responses, budgets, and measurement across the business to formulate media recommendations.
  • In three months :

  • Established a relationship with client + key media partners.
  • Up to speed with WAVEMAKERs value proposition and be able to articulate this confidently.
  • The building of media recommendations based on strategic direction pushing innovation.
  • Lead the integration of digital and offline planning.
  • In six months :

  • Become the client go-to for all day to day management of the client business within the WAVEMAKER team.
  • Thorough understanding of the client business, working as an extension of their marketing team, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Full control of media plans.
  • Active role in briefing media vendors with the Strategist and Client Lead, establish key relevance with the appropriate level of seniority of media owners.
  • In 12 months :

  • Training and development plans of executives and assistants with support and management of the workload and quality of the team, product, commercials, systems, and, basic negotiation.
  • Become an extension of the client marketing team.
  • Responsibilities of the role :

  • Lead key client relationships, ensuring that client servicing is first class.
  • Bring knowledge of the client business into the WAVEMAKER team (via regular business updates and reporting).
  • Ensure the clients are kept up to date on the media landscape, providing necessary media information and updates, competitor reports, etc.
  • Lead and manage client WIPs ensuring all relevant campaign / market updates are communicated and actions are managed across the team.
  • Work with the wider WAVEMAKER team (client lead, strategy director, implementation team) to deliver channel plans and implementation plans in response to client briefs;
  • effectively coordinating the key brief deliverables and ensuring client expectations are met.

  • Ensure documentation and records are maintained, assisting in the onboarding of any new team members to ensure seamless service.
  • Challenging clients to drive business results and thus helping to deliver a pipeline of new opportunities.
  • What you will need :

  • More than 6 years experience as the senior contact on key accounts that the main services focus on media plans and key tactics.
  • Sound knowledge of the digital landscape and able to consult clients on digital planning.
  • Broad background, exposure to and experience in the entire research, planning, and implementation process.
  • Excellent grasp of communications strategy with a full understanding of how media and digital works and key advertising principles.
  • A full understanding of clients business, competitors, customers, and objectives and sympathetic incorporation of these considerations into the communications strategy.
  • Good organizational skills in handling several projects at the same time, being able to set priorities, keep to deadlines, work effectively under time pressure.
  • A sound understanding of trading issues and how this impact on media strategies.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills as well as strong selling skills.
  • Appreciation and ability to interpret numbers and data.
  • A good rapport with colleagues across all divisions, clients, other agencies, and media owners.
  • Expertise in all relevant industry software and systems.
  • Talents with Vietnamese-speaking skills preferred
