Job Description
As the Lead Artist, you will manage the complete Art side of the project, ensuring the Art Direction vision, quality & timely delivery of the Art team.
In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate leadership skills and a strong ability to build your Art team & drive them to reach the highest quality industry standards.
Working under the guidance of the Game Content Director, you will be the key referent on Art deliveries, both in the artistic value, technical approach & best production practices.
You will also be the co-main contact with the Game Content Director - for external Art Outsourcing partners in charge of driving feedbacks process to reach quality standards in a timely manner
Your ultimate goal is to make the Art team on the project autonomous, to be able to launch the 2nd project, and run both teams in parallel with decreased involvement during the project lifecycle.
Leadership Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
Establish, enrich, own, and participate in the transmission of the artistic vision of the project through clear documentation & relevant communication.
Push the visual and technical quality of the project to the next level
Help define technical standards - poly count, deliverable format, etc.
Find relevant solutions to problems encountered in the Art team work, including creative aspects, tools usage / optimization, and workflow
Balance quality and efficiency of the team to gain the best possible results within the given time frame and technical constraints
Establish and apply clear & optimized workflows for the Art team
Provide constructive feedback on Art quality, and method of delivery processes to your team members
Organize regular reviews to constantly validate the coherence of Art deliveries, both for internal & external stakeholders.
Participate in interviews and ensure proper staffing and team makeup
Be the co-main contact for a collaborating studio or outsource partner
Report to the Game Content Director on the progress of work and any issues relating to the project
Conduct any ad-hoc tasks when required
Qualifications
Experience as an Artist in games in a Lead or Senior level role
Great understanding of Art pipelines in different job categories and at different stages of the project lifecycle.
Excellent knowledge of modeling tools such as 3DSMAX, Maya, Zbrush (UV layouts, retopology)
Mastery of the PBR Pipeline for texture creation (baking tools, Substance Painter / Photoshop)
Attention to detail for both aesthetic and technical quality.
Versatility, responsiveness, and initiative

Optimization-oriented mindset, building the project in clever ways to minimize risk
You are a strong communicator and can easily exchange on a professional level with people up and down the hierarchy, and in different areas of expertise

Ability to balance quality standards and game performance in our proprietary engine
Being used to work on tasks autonomously and to deliver results in time
Passion for games, with an ability to critically analyze them
