About the Opportunity

As part of the DET Sales team, you are responsible for providing sales and marketing support to our high performing DET team.

As a team, you will create, sell and operate experiential education and community-based tourism products in Discova’s destinations.

You are passionate and committed to achieving Discova’s purpose of opening doors to a world of possibilities , by ensuring our products benefit the communities we work with through poverty reduction, job creation and natural and cultural preservation.

At the same time, these products enable life-long learning outcomes for visiting student groups and enhance their world both personally and academically / professionally.

Your main responsibilities are :

  • Communicate timely and accurate information on DET programmes to enhance overall customer and agent satisfaction.
  • Accompany and facilitate DET groups as required to maintain high degree of product knowledge and assess future opportunities.
  • Ensure all bookings are properly set up for a confirmed group before handing over to DET Operations team.
  • Assist in research, identifying and developing products / relationships suitable to specific DET markets and opportunities.
  • The Essentials :

  • A degree in tourism and hospitality is an advantage.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
  • Advanced understanding of the sales region and outdoor activity safety knowledge and skills is desirable.
  • The Attributes :

  • Outstanding sales skills with a strong customer care focus.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to be flexible and implement change when needed.
  • A love of people, the environment, and educational travel that brings meaningful experiences to a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communicator to a diverse range of people (customers, suppliers, team members, leaders).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure and juggle multiple tasks, and comfortable with working outside office hours when required.
  • Willing to travel on business when required.
  • Personally aligned with Discova’s company purpose and values.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Discova’s systems would be an advantage.
