Working in Vietnam since the early 1980s, PATH established a permanent office in Hanoi in 1997, and an office in Ho Chi Minh City in 2014.
The overall goal of the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID’s) Support for Technical Excellence and Private Sector Sustainability in Vietnam (STEPS) is to stimulate increased market growth for private-sector (PS) HIV goods and services by sustainably expanding the availability and accessibility of high-quality health products and services through private sector approaches and partnerships with commercial and for-profit entities.
Through STEPS, USAID will support the Government of Vietnam (GVN) to achieve its goals by ensuring robust private-sector engagement (PSE) in the national HIV response.
STEPS will support the United States President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief’s (PEPFAR’s) high-priority regions with emphasis on the Ho Chi Minh City metropolitan area and Northern Economic Zone surrounding Hanoi and a focus on key populations (KPs) at risk of and living with HIV.
The STEPS Activity will meet the following high-level objectives :
Objective 1 : Total market for HIV commodities and services strengthened.
