Key Qualifications

5+ years of industry experience and 2+ years of experience managing or leading or projects and people

Familiarity with optics manufacturing and measurement techniques

Capable of prototyping, conducting design of experiments, and analytical data processing

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing domestic and international vendors

Experience in injection molding for high-precision applications such as optics

Experience in diamond turning and mold tool design

Description

Lead and manage a talented team of manufacturing-focused engineers in a fast-paced environmentTranslate optics requirement and features into detailed plans, develop schedules, deliver solutions in predictable, timely mannerWork with multi-functional teams to assess risks, understand coverage needs and prioritiesWork with optics manufacturing suppliers, and develop new techniques for optical components and modulesIdentify novel characterization techniques to measure key performance metrics of complex and novel optical components.

Work with suppliers to develop and bring up optics test platforms, perform statistical analysis of data to determine optical performance and qualityRegular visit suppliers to support engineering builds, and help with failure analysis activities Generate and maintain documentation of specifications, manufacturing, test and FA processes

Education & Experience

M.S. or Ph. D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Optical Sciences or Opto-Mechanical Engineering
