Optimizely is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead a team of experienced engineers in the development of services critical to it.

Lead an engineering team in the development of high-quality, maintainable, and scalable search services
Coordinate and guide a team in the design, development, deployment, and operation of the service that enables Optimizely's ability to enhance customer experience
Collaborate within and across departments to clear roadblocks, facilitate progress, and enable team to deliver on their commitments
Make high-judgment decisions around technology and strategy
Champion engineering excellence and continuously drive software engineering development lifecycle improvements in your team as well as cross-team
Take ownership of the quality of the product as well as the responsibility to coach and mentor other members of the team.
Knowledge and Experience
You have 7+ years of experience in the development of scalable, production services, backend development
You have strong experience with Azure Cloud Computing platform and understanding of scaling and reliability concerns
You have 3+ years of experience leading teams from conception to delivery of services
You have experience designing services and APIs with concern for performance, availability, observability
You ascribe to DevOps principles regarding delivery performance, quality, and customer satisfaction
You maintain an awareness of the state of technology, tools, and techniques
You model servant leadership, collaborate constructively with both technical and non-technical colleagues, and effectively articulate plans.
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
